AJAX has changed the web. Finally, „real“ applications in the browser are possible that can compete with their desktop counterparts.

New interaction concepts (like drag'n'drop) and responsive user interfaces make user-friendly applications possible. With the invention of AJAX, Javascript was also discovered as a real language.
